次は何をしたらいいんですか？（今日の練習から〜５年生〜）
Ｋリーグの試合が近いこともあり、今日は久しぶりに５年と６年に分かれて別メニューで練習しました。
本日のテーマは、先週の全国少年の反省から「浮き球のファーストタッチ」。この学年は家でボールに触れている時間がたいへん少ないのでキック力とボールコントロール力が未発達です。足下のボールはだいぶ器用に扱えるようになったのですが、腰からの上のボールは極端に下手。先週の試合でも、ボールの落下点にはいち早く入っているのですが、トラップがうまくできないためボールが自分の足下でなく敵の足下にコロコロと転がってしまい、簡単に奪われてしまうシーンが目立ちました。
意識させた点は２つ。まずは丁寧なトラップ。次にディフェンダーを意識したファーストタッチ。ボールとディフェンダーの間に自分の体を置き、素早く前を向いてボールを持ち出すこと。
●上手になりたいと思い始めた子供たち
２人１組で、片方がパントキックをして、もう片方が胸トラップという、基本練習からスタートしたのですが、ここでひと悶着。パントキックのコントロールが定まらないのでなかなか胸トラップの練習にならない。さらに単調な繰り返し練習ですので、すぐに飽きてしまう。「集中しよう！」とここでいつも通りカミナリが落ちたわけですが、少し違ったのは中には集中している子供もいたこと。トミー＆タナシュン組は黙々と胸トラップを続けていました。
エッ、あのタナシュンが？ と思うのですが、どうやら彼はサッカーに目覚めたらしい。上手になりたいという気持ちが表に出るようになって、練習態度がずいぶん変わってきました。（もちろん、今日だけかもしれませんが）
最近、子供たちが少し変わってきたなと感じるのはこの部分です。「上手くなりたい」と思う子供が増えてきた。ゴールデンエイジの彼らが「上手くなりたい」と思い始めたら、それは「シメシメ」なのです。
●「いい質問」をしよう！
今日の胸トラップの練習であれば、30本１セットを交互にやるよう子供たちに指示を出すわけですが、早く終わったペアは必ず「コーチ終わったよ、次は何するの？」と口々に聞いてきます。これは毎週必ずやっているリフティングやボールタッチでも同じ。ペアごとでスピードが違うため、早く終わったペアは、サイドキック・パスで待つように毎回指示しているわけですが、毎回同じように聞いてきます。そこでまたコーチはキレルわけです、「ちょっとは考えろよ！」と。
例えば、６年生とゲームをするため誰かに「ビブス（ゼッケン）を取ってきて」と指示したとします。きまって彼等は「コーチ、何色ですか、何枚ですか」と聞いてきます。”間違わないよう質問しているのだからすばらしいじゃない”と思われるかもしれませんが、彼等はもう何年も同じことを毎週やっているのです。出席者の人数も、ゴールキーパーには色違いが必要なことも、先に低学年がビブスを使っていることもゼーンブわかっていいます。
そう、彼等は自分で考えることをしない。質問すれば必ず答えがもらえると思い込んでいる。
サッカーは考えるスポーツです。流れから次の展開を予測し、状況から次の最良のプレーを判断するスポーツです。「指示待ち人間」と正反対に位置するのがサッカー選手です。
ですから、今日は彼等にそのことを叱りました。「なんでもかんでも聞けばイイというものじゃないでしょ。質問は考えるためにするもの、自分で考えればわかることを質問する必要はないでしょ。まず、自分で考えよう。それでわからなければ質問しよう」と。合い言葉は「いい質問をしよう」です。自分で考えるための質問が、いい質問です。自分で考えたり判断することを投げ出した質問は悪い質問です。
自戒を込めてて書けば、最近の親は、子供に先回りして何でも教え過ぎ（与え過ぎ）の傾向が強いのではないでしょうか？ 我が子可愛さから出ているのですが、それは逆効果ではないでしょうか？
●ベンチの指示にも問題あり
試合中、ベンチに陣取っているコーチからプレーヤーにいろいろな指示が出るわけですが、ここでも「子供に考えさせる指示」と「子供に命令する指示」とがあります。
例えば、「おいっ、17番が後ろにいるぞ、必ずパスが来るからマークしろ」というのは命令型。「おいっ、まわり見ているか？ そのポジションで大丈夫か？」というのが質問型。よりともコーチを眺めていても、このあたりはバラバラです。
社本会長は「子供に考えさせようよ」とよく言っていますが、小生はたぶん試合中は８割方、命令型コーチングになっています。だって、勝ちたいものですから…。てなことで、小生も勉強中。
